I started drawing at a very early age and I have never lost the interest. I've always liked the simplicity of the pencil as an art medium. After graduating high school I spent most of the next decade traveling around the country with friends. We didn't have much for belongings, just what was needed for light travel. The pencil was the perfect medium for this life style. 

 

Over the years I've worked in other mediums but have always come back to the pencil. Beyond the simplicity there is a quality to it that is difficult to explain. Part of it is nostalgia and a sense of timelessness one has when viewing a black and white photograph. I've also enjoyed the challenge of using such a non traditional medium to make a finished piece of art. I hope you enjoy my work.
